I have record of one Letitia Yancey marrying one William B Hunts 3 Apr 1849 in Harrison Co., OH. I am looking for proof of the validity f this info based on primary records. (1784-1859) Author & Complier Sylvia Summers Stites November – 1973 This genealogy would not have been complied except for the fact that Leo, Florence, and Bill Howdeshell decided to look up some of the Summers family near Philadelphia, Mo. in the spring of 1968. They were directed to the home of my late brother, Clive Summers, who gave me their address and we have corresponded ever since, learning so much about the family. I only knew of one sister, Emily, of my grandfather. We met the Howdeshells and many of the descendants of Elizabeth Summers Wade for the first time at the Wade Family Reunion held the 23 June 1968 at the Turnbull House in Cuivre River State Park near Troy, Missouri. The Howdeshells mentioned that Molly Keely had a family letter which she shared with me. It was the letter telling Andrew J. Summers of the death of his father, John T. The letter mentioned a will and checking in Cadiz, Ohio, it was learned that the wife of John T. was named Jane. The relationship of the others was also identified. Bill Howdeshell kept mentioning to me that Phebe Ann Davenport Summers (widow of Andrew J.) had received a pension and he thought it was a government check. With very little information, I wrote to the GSA at Washington D. C. and received 30 pages of records, affidavits, etc., a gold mine of family data. Jane Summers Wheaton, a daughter by Andrew J.’s first wife, listed all the children and their birthdates by her father’s second marriage. This record is clearer than the Bible record Leo has. Jane also states she was present when her father married Phebe Ann Davenport. Jane did not fill in the places for the name of her mother or exact date of her death. Molly Keely also has an original Land Grant which is very interesting but the connection to the family is not known. This Land Grant was issued 25 July 1794 for 464 acres of land in Hampshire Co., Va. (now W. Va.) to William Millburn. Robert Brooke, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia signed same the 20 Nov. 1795. Phebe Ann received a pension of $12.00 a month as the widow of Andrew J. Summers for his War of 1812 service. 1b. Rebecca Summers (?) 2b. Polly D. Summers m. Abram Evans (the one who wrote the letter to Andrew J. in 1837). 3b. Jane Ann Summers b. ca 1822 in Va. Hello, I was going to key in a page of marriage records that I photocopied in Cadiz, just to have them on record. As I read them, I found something else about my family. Maybe someone knows the connection. The marriage records follow. Was T.K. CRAWFORD VDM a minister at Nottingham Presbyterian? He married Hiram Laizure and Sarah Parks in 1853, and their baby is buried in the Nottingham Cemetery. Does anyone know of the family of DAVID PARKS of MOOREFIELD Twp. in 1850? I need the parents and other information on the following person: Jacob BECK, b. 26 Jan 1814 in either PA or VA. Early in his life the census records list VA and later the census list PA. One even states Cumberland Co, PA, but I have found no records in any place. Jacob died 21 Feb 1888 in Patriot, Gallia Co, OH. Jacob married Christina A. Feltenberger on 22 Dec 1836 in Harrison Co, OH. Their children were: Mary b. about 1836 in OH John L. b. 10 Feb 1839 in Harrison Co, OH Sarah Ann b. 28 Mar 1841 in Harrison Co, OH Solomon b. Feb 1842 in Harrison Co, OH Jacob Henderson b. 30 May 1844 in Harrison Co, OH Henry Howard b. 8 Apr 1847 in Harrison Co, OH Eliza Jane b. 31 Dec 1849 in German Twp. Harrison Co, OH Charles b. 1850-1854 in OH Samuel b. 2 May 1852 in Harrison Co, OH George b. 1857 in OH Elizabeth b. 1861 in OH Margaret Ann b. 1864 in OH In the 1850 census Jacob & Christina are in German twp, Harrison Co, OH. In the 1870 & 1880 census they are in Perry Twp, Patriot, Gallia Co, OH I have not found them in the 1840 or 1860 census. I would appreciate any help. Wayne Beck
