Does anyone know whether there are any Hamiltons buried in one of the Green Township cemeteries? I am particularly interested in two families who are listed in consecutive entries on the census of 1860. They are: Eli Hamilton, 40, Ohio Mary A. Hamilton, 31, Pa. Nancy J. Hamilton, 7, Ohio Wm. D. Hamilton, 5, Ohio Mary E. Hamilton, 3, Ohio Margaret A. Hamilton, 1, Ohio Alex'r Hamilton, 34, Ohio Nancy Hamilton, 20, Virginia Thos. Hamilton, 1, Ohio Eli was a son of William Hamilton and Elizabeth Dickerson who came from Pennsylvania about 1805. Elizabeth is buried at the Old Cadiz Cemetery. Margaret A. Hamilton is buried at Dickerson Church [hers is the stone partially engulfed by the tree stump). Where is the rest of the family buried? Who was Alexander? Was he also a son of William and Elizabeth? Any information on either of these families would be much appreciated. Thank you, Larry Dickerson

Peter Boyce was in Cadiz, OH about 1819. He was born in upstate NY about 1780 to Abraham Boyce and Mollie(Mary) Cowan. He had siblings, Mary, Abraham and maybe one other. Abraham(the Sibling) died in 1831 in Fort Ann, NY. Mary was married to David Rice and lived her life in Fort Ann, NY with a large family. Peter Boyce left home about 1810 and moved to Cadiz, Ohio. I am interested in sharing my Boyce research with others that have been working on Peter Boyce in Harrison County, OH. Thanks in advance for any clues or help. Don Rice Santa Barbara, CA

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1YB.2ACI/769 Message Board Post: Has anyone else noticed that there are so many Taylor families, from England, Australia, US, Ohio, just about everywhere, that were considered mute or "deaf & dumb" (terrible term) or hearing impaired? I have found four siblings from one Taylor family from NJ in the early 1800's. Over the years I have noticed many others, especially in England. It must be genetic! I would love to know if anyone else has noticed the same problem. On one of the boards I had even noted one nervy woman who was calling these unfortunate people "daft" and making fun of them. If anyone had ever done a study on this problem, what a help it might be for researchers! Is there any of the Taylors on this board who have an ancestor who was considered mute or deaf & dumb? Please contact me. UPDATE: Many people have mentioned checking out this website: http://www.mvy.com/spokehand.html My library has found both articles and faxed them to me. I think I'm on the right track! Sandy [email protected]

Hi Myrna, Thank you ever so much for info from the Morrow co history. It does finally clear up the suspicion that Enoch was married a second time. And from what you sent me it also appears he and second wife Sarah Wirick did not have any children. I show his life in the Uhrichsville, Ohio area as being married to Lucinda Cinderella Coleman and having children: Louisa, Amanda, Mary and my grandfather Commodore Perry Wagner. Your mention of Johnsville jogged another memory that Enoch's brother, George Wagner, once lived in Johnsville before going west to Iowa. George married (in 1841) to Margaret Coleman, sister to Lucinda. Your note was the very first mentioning of Johnsville. Thanks again for your help and good hunting for you... Don Wagner, New Philadelphia, Oh.
