    1. [OHHARRIS] LAIZURES, McCULLOUGHS, PERRINS, TRICKLES et al
    2. This has been an interesting roll call. A. My LAIZURE family came from Bedford Co., PA about 1818. The parents were JONATHAN and JANE. They were married in 1800. Some of the children were: 1. William B. Laizure (b. 1801) mar. JANE MCCULLOUGH 1822, Elizabeth TRICKLE ca 1828, married Ann CHENOWITH 1840. The marriages were in Harrison County. About 1840 Wm and Ann moved to Uhrichsville and raised their children. 2. Juliann Laizure (b. ca 1803) mar. William McCULLOUGH 1821. They lived in Harrison County until death. Members of Nottingham Presbyterian Church. 3. Amos Laizure (b. 1807) mar. Martha McCULLOUGH later in the 1820s. Farmed in Nottingham Township most of their lives. Members of Nottingham Presbyterian Church. Buried in the graveyard there. B. to the lady with the Nancy McCullough: Was her maiden name Nancy Ann Mccullough? Regarding the McCULLOUGHS: I don't know where this small McCullough family came from either, possibly Washington Co., PA. However, I do know that Wm (b. ca 1794) and Martha (b. 1796) McCullough were siblings. They lived in Nottingham Twp prior to marriage and remined there as neighbors after marriage. From records of a lawsuit, we know William and Martha were siblings. I surmise that Jane McCullough was a younger sibling. The McCulloughs were partial to the name NANCY, Wm and Martha both named their first child Nancy. William's dau, Nancy, was born in 1821. We don't know if she married. Martha's dau, Nancy, was born in 1829 and married Reuben LEE. C. The LAIZURES AND PERRINS were related way back in the 1700s, when John Perrin died in what is now Allegany Co., MD. Two LAZEAR (Laizure) men, are listed as John's next-of-kin on the inventory after John's death. They lived near each other in Murley's Run, which is outside of Flintstone. D. During the Revolution, John and Joseph LAIZURE served under Griffith JOHNSON when he raised a militia in Murleys Run. Sharon Laizure Hofer

    3. Yes, my Nancy Ann supposed maiden name was McCullough. She was my grandfathers Mother and she sure did not leave a paper trail. Hubby and I have been back there to look at legal documents and can find not a one. Do have a question for you.............were your McCullough's catholic? On a visit to Cadiz in 2000 I asked about Catholic churches and was told that likely with the last name of McCullough she was Scot/Irish and Prespetarian. (sp) and there were no Catholic churches until the 1920's. She had told her kids she was Catholic but we can find no record of this either. So many things that can not be proven makes me wonder about her. Sandy I do know that families in those days did have naming patterns for their children and keep looking for families with Nancys or names she named her children. Quite frustrating this search! ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, January 04, 2003 5:47 PM Subject: [OHHARRIS] LAIZURES, McCULLOUGHS, PERRINS, TRICKLES et al > This has been an interesting roll call. > > A. 2. Charles R. Bradley
    3. My connection to Harrison County is a great-great-great grandfather Jeremiah BRADLEY. He came from Westmoreland County in 1817 and built a log cabin about 3 miles from Scio and one mile from Hanover. He was married to Martha LUTE and they had seven children David, Mary, Joseph, Mariah, Levi, Susanna. David married Mary MORGAN. Mary married John COOK. Joseph married Isabella WHEATON. Susanna married George SHAMBAUGH. The others did not marry. Names of other family members down the line are RUTLEDGE, RAKE, and SKIPPER. Jeremiah died in Harrison County but I have not been able to determine in which cemetery. His wife Martha moved to Brown County, Indiana and is buried there. If anyone has information on any of these names I would be glad to hear from them. Charles R. Bradley 7262 18th Road Argos, IN 46501 [email protected]

Surnames: Burwell, Warden Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1YB.2ACI/802 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on Joseph Burwell, b. 31 Jan 1799; d. 30 Aug 1879 and his ancestors and children. Joseph married Mary Scott Warden on 13 Jan 1824 (probably in Harrison County, Ohio). Both the 1830 and 1850 US Census show Joseph and family in Harrison County. Also, my Burwell family documentation shows Joseph and Mary’s only children as Isaac (b. 26 Jul 1829; d. 8 Aug 1908) and Isabel (b. 5 Dec 1824), yet the 1850 US Census shows two other children: James M Warden, age 15, and Mary Smith, age 11. (in 1850, Isaac was 21 and living with Joseph. I’m assuming Isabel married and lived elsewhere, but I don’t know where) Any other information about Joseph Burwell, his ancestors or his children, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
