I'm searching for the earliest Huston's in Harrison co, specifically any ancedotes of Edward Huston and his father. I have copies of the information from a book published in 1897 of Bibliographies of Harrison and Carrol county residents that I purchased from the Stark Co. Library geaneological deparment. That basically gave me the names of Edward, his wife Catharine and their children. I'll gladly take any other help you can offer me. Thank you for your time, Kelli Huston Karns

As the stories go, they moved some people but for the most part whatever they didn't move was left underwater. People that have scuba dived in the lake say it's extremely eerie because you can't see more than five feet in front of your face, and suddenly in front of you is a tractor, then a mailbox, then a house....... Dorothy Jane was my grandmother. According to what I have at home, she was the eldest child of Ora and Hazel Alta Cox. She married Ernest Eugene Huston and had four children. The first was stillborn, followed by Ernest Edward, James Allen and Cheryl. She died of lung cancer in 1996. I also need to double check, but I'm almost certain Hazel died in Dover Ohio, not Uhrichsville. She had lived in an assisted living facility in Dover, near a hospital. Amazing woman. I wish I could have known her better. Kelli Huston Karns

    1. [OHHARRIS] Hannah Hawthorne/Alexander Henderson
    2. Jim Woodworth
    3. I'm looking for any information I can get on Hannah Hawthorne. What I have is: She was born 12 Dec 1798 in Pennsylvania. She married Alexander Henderson 1 Apr 1819 in Jefferson county, Ohio. Hannah died 29 Jun 1881 in Harrisville, Harrison county, Ohio. I would appreciate any help in finding out more about Hannah Hawthorne. There were lots of Hendersons and Hawthornes in and around Harrisville. Also a number of Sloan and McConnell families, who were also related to the Hendersons. My understanding is that there is a Henderson Ridge about 3 miles south of Harrisville. We also have a diary kept in 1874 and 1875 by Andrew Henderson (1821-1898), son of Alexander and Hannah (Hawthorne) Henderson. The diary mentions a lot of names of people Andrew knew. If anyone would like a copy of the diary I can e-mail a file in WordPerfect format or in Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf). The diary is 122 pages, including the names index.
