    3. Do you get a page that says "this page cannot be found"? If so, look in the center in the smaller print. There is a link. Click on that link and you will be taken directly to it. It came up for me immediately. 2. Lori
    3. I am searching for proof that Rezin Harris is father to Julia Ann Harris. An older relative had a scrap of paper with the names "Rezin and Susan Harris, Steubenville, OH". Julia Ann married 1818 Harrison Co., OH. Rezin Harris appears in the 1820 census for that county. I have looked at probate records and land records through LDS. His name does not appear in probate records, but it does appear in the land index in the 1820s as a grantee. The seller was Michael Blackiston. There is a Barton Harris "an insane person" in the 1834 probate/estate records. Josiah Scott was his guardian. Both the given names "Barton" and "Josiah" are Harris family names, so I wonder if these aren't kin to Rezin. I am looking for something to prove Julia Ann is Rezin's daughter. I think this Harris family came from Frederick Co., MD, and before the PG county, MD. Lori

    1. [OHHARRIS] Free Online -- NY Times Newspaper
    2. The following was sent on another mailing I belong. It is completely searchable. I found several articles on one of my husband's ancestors, including his obituary. Anyone with ties to this area might find it worth checking out. Connie "The New York Times" is online free until 15 Dec 2003, and then it will be gone. This isn't just the index, but every page, with most very readible!  You might be able to find NJ information, obituaries, etc. It has the complete New York Times, (including the classified) from 1851-2001! It works like this: First, go to --http://riversideregionallibrary.org/ Second, click on "ProQuest Historical New York Times" Third, use the guest password here, which is: welcome Fourth, click on "ProQuest Historical New York Times" again. Fifth, you are now on the search screen -- try it! Enjoy! Connie Cotterill Schumaker Schumaker4@aol.com Keep genealogy free! Volunteer "Practice random acts of kindness"......

    3. Susan, Thanks. We will get the "stuff" out to you by the end of the day tomorrow. No, Sorry, I don't know them, but they can't be far from here...according to my map program, it is 5.61 miles, to be exact. We actually live north of highway 16, on the east side of Okauchee Lake. Our home address is actually Nashotah, but my office mail comes to the P.O. Box in Hartland. It is, indeed, a small world. 1. [OHHARRIS] INDEX TO PATHFINDERS OF JEFFERSON COUNTY - Free to good homes....
    2. John William Lindsay
    3. Dear Listmembers, Recently, I was fortunate enough to receive a photocopy of this paper, which has received alot of attention lately, particularly on the Jefferson County list. It has a great deal of information in it, although I would guess it will only send you to the sources, not provide the "smoking gun" many of us are looking for - in most cases. Much of this information relates to OLD JEFFERSON COUNTY, before Harrison, Belmont, Carroll, etc. were split off. I have access to some "resources" and since there was only a paper copy of an index in the Schiappa library, I took it upon myself to create a name index for this document, as well as to create a "clean" copy of the document text.. This index is my original work, I have never seen the index the in the Schiappa Library, and is intended as an additional tool. This is not a commercial venture, and the time and resources I have invested in doing this are a small repayment of the many kindnesses that have been done for me over the years as an amateur genealogist. It is a large computer file, so it would be cumbersome to e-mail, However, you have a couple of choices: 1. I will send you the package by regular mail. It consists of the PDF document on a CD, which is searchable, and indexed. With this package, I will automatically send a hard copy of the booklet, and index which runs to some 170 pages. The cost for mailing and copys is $11.00. You can pay me by PayPal, or just send a check to: JOHN LINDSAY P.O. Box 17 Hartland, WI 53029 Make sure you include your mail address. 2. You can download the document from the Ohio page of my website, the LOST LINDSAYS OF OHIO. If you do so, please donate a small amount (or a large amount) to one of the county sponsors of the websites we use in Eastern Ohio. To download click here http://www.wardjames.com/LINDSAYOHIO.html then click on the filename, PATHFINDERS.pdf the download should begin right away. It took about 10 seconds on my speedy delivery hookup. THE INDEX IN THIS BOOKLET IS COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL - This is to keep some moron from stealing my work, copying it and selling it on EBAY. This is also why it is free to you as a download. We will be sending a copy to the Cadiz Library, the Schiappa Library, and to the Belmont County Genealogical Society Library. This copy will be free to the library, and they are free to print additional hard copies for their use or circulation, They will also receive a copy of the CD with the paper and index on it. They are free to make copies of the CD and circulate that as they see fit. This is intended to be distributed to as many as can use it for free, with the courtesy that everyone gets reimbursed for their expenses. We also expect to have a place name index ready after the first of the year. This too, will be free, although the CD serves that purpose to some degree now, in that it is searchable. Thanks to all for your help. John Lindsay

Thanks, Janet, for all the info that is on this site.
