Hi Everyone - I am searching for someone who personally knew my grandmother, Isabelle Iva SCHEARER MOORE. A large amount of people knew/know of her - she died in 1936 when a pressure cooker blew up, leaving Grandpa (George Lester MOORE) with 8 kids to raise. Most of us know more than we care to about her death - what we would like to do is find out more about her life. Grandma was born on the family farm on the Hardin/Logan County line outside of Belle Center (hence this message will be cross-posted on the Logan County e-list). Statistics: * born 20 Jan 1905 to Samuel and Elizabeth HANCOCK SCHEARER * attended high school in Belle Center; graduated 1924 * married 10 Mar 1925 to GL MOORE of near Alger, who was 12 years older * had 8 kids in 11 years (names and dates withheld as most are living) * died 21 Nov 1936 * buried Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Roundhead Twp, Hardin County I know it's a long shot, people who knew her personally would have to be in their 90s at least. But hey, nice things sometimes happen :-) Some of the things my cousins and I would like to know are just ordinary things, what kind of person was she (was she really as hot-tempered as some family legends indicate?) How did she meet Grandpa and what was the attraction? His airplane? His motorcycle? Who were her friends? I am also trying to locate pictures to copy - a house fire destroyed everything of that nature, but I did find the Belle Center graduation pictures!
