Mary CROSS, my Great-grandmother, was the wife of George OSBORN (of Hardin Co.) George and Mary were married 1869 (if I remember correctly) in Hardin Co. Mary was born in Logan Co., OH, apparently in Rushcreek Twp. Her parents were Peter CROSS and Susannah WHITE. Peter CROSS and Susannah WHITE were married 1834 in Logan Co., where they were enumerated in the Censuses of 1840, 1850, and 1860. In 1870 they are located in Hardin Co. (Taylor Creek). Peter died 1894, apparently in Hardin Co., but is buried in Logan Co. (Miami Cem.). Susannah (WHITE) CROSS died 1903 in Kenton, and is buried with Peter. Peter CROSS's parents were John and Margaret (BOWERS) CROSS, as identified in a "Biographical Sketch" in an old county history encompassing Hardin Co. John CROSS and wife Margaret BOWERS were described as natives of PA and pioneers of Licking Co., OH. Peter was born in Licking Co. about 1814-1818. A submission to Ancestral File @ FamilySearch identifies John and Margaret (BOWERS) CROSS as parents of Lydia CROSS and John CROSS--no son "Peter" is named. This Ancestral File record indicates the birth of Lydia CROSS was 1812 in Bowlingreen Twp., Licking Co. Her death is noted as 1899 in Buck Twp., Hardin Co., with burial in Sieg Cem., Taylor Creek. It appears likely Peter and Lydia were siblings. Children of Peter CROSS and Susannah WHITE, as compiled from census schedules: Phoebe, Alexander, Margaret, Rosannah, Nancy, Mary C., George W., Joseph P., Sarah, Albert, Minerva. I would like to correspond with anyone who has information on the CROSS family. Tom Osborn California
