Samuel PITTINGTON on the 1880 Census had son Samuel (age 5 in 1860). The son, Samuel, had a daughter, Elizabeth L. PITTINGTON, who married Herman F. McBETH, grandson of Wilson Lewis & Mary Ann (TERRY) MASON. Note: The son, Samuel, also cannot read or write and is in the 1900 Census as PININGTON, 1910 Census as PETTINGHEN, and 1920 Census as PITTINGTON. Note: The Wilson L. & Mary Ann Terry Mason family were long time residents of Marion Co. OH. Note: The Mrs. Spitzer who reported Martha's death was her Aunt? Since Samuel was residing in Goshen Twp. in 1860, it is more likely that Martha was born in Goshen Twp. than in Pleasant Twp.
