    3. Alice, I would try using the Hardin County Genealogy Society's materials first since they've done a lot of work on this, but there is a state library you can go to. The Ohio Historical Society maintains a library in Columbus with micro films of state newspapers. Their web site is <www.ohiohistory.org/resource/index.html>. I know you can request some services from them for a fee, such as looking up death certificates, but I don't know if they will search newspapers. It may be possible to hire a private researcher to do this. Lew >In the State where I live the State Historical Society maintains a library that is a repository for the States newspapers. They are on micro film. For a small fee, if you have the death date and place of death, they will search the newspapers for an obituary. Is there something similar in Ohio ? I would like to find obituaries for several people who lived in Hardin County in the 1800's. thanks, Alice
