Was there a state- or county-level census in 1851? The FTM CD "Census Index: U.S. Selected Counties 1850" shows entries for both 1850 and 1851 in cases where I have located OH ancestors. No details other than county, township, and page # (sometimes) are given. Tom Osborn Calif.
