Many of the settlers of Hardin County in the mid-1800's were Germans from the area around Schluechtern south of Fulda in Germany. I have recently created a web site with information mainly about the village Oberkalbach but some of which also pertains to the surrounding villages. It includes marriage contract information and also emigration information. There is also an index of the names included in the Oberkalbach christening books from 1654-1900.
