Allen Graves, born in VT, and Mahalia Hays, his wife, also born in VT were parents of my gr grandfather Thaddeus W. Graves born 19 January 1834 Kenton, Hardin Co., IA. I have hit a brick wall in researching further on this line. Thaddeus refers to brothers and sisters and states "they took me from home while a little boy" - can anyone help solve this mystery or help me locate any siblings of Thaddeus? He served in Co. G. 13 Union Army Volunteer Infantry from Illinois in Civil War, lived in Whiteside and Carroll counties, Illinois and died in Savanna, IL in 1910. He married Amanda Geisinger born in MD and they had 4 children, all born in Illinois: Hattie, Walter (my father's father), twins Ernest G. and Edith M. born 1881. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have a census showing John and Lucinda Wilson in Hardin County in 1850. John is ~24 in the census, making his birthdate about 1826 or so. I was interested because he has an Ephraim and Sophia Moore with him...my great great great grandparents. Any relation? This may not help but I do have the following: A copy of 'Old Newspaper Obit, Marriages, Etc.... Book IV for Ada, OH' From Hardin County Genealogy Society. The WILSON sunames shown in the index are for Benjamin Richard, Mary (Kridler), Sarah Morrow and a William D. My great grandmother Pearl Looker's 1st marriage was to a Thomas R. Wilson on September 19, 1893 but he died on November 15, 1893. He died of Typhoid Fever. It does not show the names of his parents but says he was born in Logan County, May 8, 1866 and was survived by mother & father and three sisters. Thomas & Pearl lived near West Mansfield, Oh and is buried in the West Mansfield Cemetery. Patti Smith

My son, Kevin, married Tanya WATSON last week in DeGraff, Ohio. Tanya has asked me to search for her ancestry. Her father was from Hardin County, but Tanya knows only his name and birthdate: James Howard WATSON, born May 13, 1950, in Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton. Can anyone help us begin the search for her ancestry? Anna Welch <anna_welch@hotmail.com>

I've "lost" my gr.gr. uncle Francis Lee. He was born ca. 1848 in Columbiana Co., and last appeared on the 1860 Harden Co. census, son of Hugh Lee. Could he have died in Harden Co- died in the Civil War- been imprisoned? Thanks for any suggestions and places to look. Ted. Ted Lee Spring Arbor, Mich. Pop. 800

Monday morning and fingers aren't awake yet - sorry. I meant after 1850 not after 1950.
Hi all, Does anyone on here have access to the Hardin Co, Census records for any years AFTER 1950? I have lost an ancestor and can't find him. Charles W Littleton is shown on the 1850 McDonald Twp census (age 19) as living with his mother Elizabeth Ann Littleton. I can find no record for him after that. I was hoping someone on here would have the census records for the next couple census's and could check for me to see if he is listed. Many thanks in advance - Terry Littleton - sponsor of LITTLETON-L@rootsweb.com
Hi everyone -- I'm new to this list and am researching the KETTLEWELL family who lived in Hardin Co. 1830s - 1860s. Specifically: Vincent, William, Elizabeth, Ann and Charles. Willing to share any info I have and appreciate any help. Pam Edel edel47@aol.com
Hello everyone, Mrs. Donald Coates and I were sharing our information on Mason and Coats via snail mail. Have not been in contact for quite some time since my mother had a major stroke. In one of her last letters she wrote about her computer. I wonder if she is on-line or has an email address? I just got on-line myself. If anyone in the Dunkirk area knows her, would you please give her my email address. Thanks, Linda
Can anyone tell me if there was an orphanage near Kenton, Hardin County, OH in the 1830's? My gr grandfather wrote "they took me from home while a little boy" and mentions brothers and sisters, but no mention of parents. I have unable to trace his parents and wonder if one or both of them died young, leaving a family alone. My gr grandfather was Thaddeus W. Graves born 19 January 1834 Kenton, Hardin County, OH to Allen Graves and Mahalia Hays. Does anyone have a clue?
Not too much activity, but then I think it is a fairly new list. I'm looking for anyone with ties to Hardin Co, LITTLETONS who started the town of Jumbo. ESPECIALLY a Charles William LITTLETON who seems to have disappeared from Hardin about 1850. Terry Littleton.
Thanks so much for that fabulous information. I am trying to unravel this mystery and your data surely helps. Margaret was my great-grandmother.
