I am reposting my Hancock County families. Adam Minnick and wife Elizabeth Guntner came from Dauphin Co, Pennsylvania to Hancock Co, Ohio sometime between 1837 & 1841. They moved on to Allamakee Co, Iowa in 1858. 5 of their 12 children were born in Pennsylvania, the remaining in Ohio. Several of their children were recorded as born in Liberty, Findlay Twp, Hancock Co. I believe this should be Findlay, Liberty Twp, Hancock Co. Can someone confirm this? Is Findlay in Liberty Township and was in it 1850? Adam Minnick is the proverbial brick wall with no info on his parents or siblings. Here is what I have on them while living in Hancock County: Their 2 oldest daughters apparently married the same man. Mary was married to Robert Hamilton and they had a daughter named Amanda. Mary died in May 1852 and her sister Susan married Robert 27 Sep 1852. Susan died in May of 1856. Both Mary & Susan should be buried in the area. Another sister, Eliza Minnick, married Alonzo W. Thornton in Hancock Co in 1855. They moved to Iowa in 1861. Henry Minnick was born 1842; died 1851. Aramenda Minnick was born 1846; died 15 Oct 1855. They should both also be buried in the area. Another possible son, Adam Minnick, was age 2 in 1850 and died before age 8. Names of other children include: John (who was listed on the 1850 census as age 17; I have no other info on him), Levi, Katherine, Sarah, David Adam, Laura Jane & Ira Izaac. Any information on this family or any possible leads to siblings or parents of Adam Minnick would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. DeLoris Jensby jensby@navix.net
