    1. BOWERSOX, GRUBER family Bible
    2. Hancock Co. List members: I wanted to share with you the information I have from the BOWERSOX Bible which is currently in my Dad's possesion. On the inside front cover of the bible are several newspaper articles which have cut out and pasted to inside front cover. Unfortunately, there is no reference to the date or source of these articles: "Mr. Phares Bowersox died Monday morning at his residence north of this village. The funeral services occurred at the Evangelical church, Wednesday morning and were largely attended. Burial took place at the Fleck Cemetery. The deceased had suffered for a long time from a complication of physical ailments. He was a good man, highly respected by his neighbors, and all who knew him." "A very pleasant wedding that was solemnized on Sunday was that in which Miss Carrie Bowersox and Mr. William E. Dietzel were united in marriage at the home of the bride on Ebon avenue. The ceremony was celebrated on Sunday afternoon at half after 5 o'clock, Rev. A. M. Growden of the Church of Christ officiating. Only a few of the personal friends of the bride were present during the plighting of the vows. A delicious wedding supper was served at the close. Mr. and Mrs. Dietzel will have the best wishes and hearty congratulations of a large number of friends." "LICENSED TO MARRY William E. Dietzel, 23, and Carrie Bowersox, 18, both of Findlay." "Quite Marriage Ceremony, The Rev. Dr. Hollyday officiated at a quiet marriage at his residence Sabbath morning at 8 o'clock, when Mr. Elroy Bowersox and Miss Nettie Zimmerman were joined in the holy bonds of wedlock. Mr. and Mrs. Bowersox were both residents of Findlay before their marriage and will in the future make their home in this city." "Happy Nuptisls Mrs. Lydia Bowersox and Mr. William Swick of Grand Rapids, Ohio, were married by Rev. A. M. Growden, pastor of the Church of Christ, at the home of the bride Monday. The good wishes of a large circle of friends follow them to their new home." "LICENSED TO MARRY George W. Taylor, 60, Findlay and Hannah M. Shoup, 30, Findlay. William C. Swick, 42, Lucas County, and Lydia Bowersox, 44, Findlay. " Also tucked into the bible are four small pages that appear to have been removed from another book. The top of each page is titled Family Record and had written underneath are the following entries: Benjamin Gruber was born February the 20th, 1827 Mary Gruber was born February the 25th, 1827. Mary Ann Gruber was born October the 8th, 1849. Nathaniel Henry Gruber was born February the 28th 1852 Emma Elizabeth Gruber was born November the 18th, 1853. Lydia Adaline Gruber was born December the 12th, 1856. John Ficks Gruber was born September 7th A.D. 1860 Susanna Alice Gruber was born November 6th A. This is supported by the certificate of marriage page in the bible which lists the location of the of the marriage as "Benjamin Grubers". The certificate of marriage page from the bible reads: "This certifies that Phares Bowersox and Lydia A.
