I am trying to obtain the military records for my wife's father, but can't because I don't know his military service number. He was born 'n raised in Findlay, lived his life there, and was finally buried there at Maple Grove Cemetery when he died fairly young in 1953, at about age 38. Can anyone there offer some guidance as to how we would go about finding out if the information we need is on any of the county records, or any of the records of the local veteran's organizations that he may have belonged to? This is all brand new territory for me, and I would certainly appreciate any/all help from more experienced folks.
