I should add more info about my SNYDER and GIFFORD My great-great grandparents: Jeremiah SNYDER b. abt 1834 in Ohio Rachael R. GIFFORD Snyder b. abt 1848 in Ohio....their children: Clara b. 1867 Findlay, OH Howard b. 1869, OH They all ended up going West; Clara married at age 17 in Jefferson Co, Colorado, then went on to Arizona and California. Her son, my grandfather, W. Ray, took his stepfather's name, MYERS, and worked in Silent Films in Los Angeles, CA. Even his mother Clara "hammed it up" according to my mom, in some of the films. I thought perhaps because FINDLAY, OH, had an opera house it could've been an influence; Rachael played piano. I was told that Rachael received terrible burns due to a fire started by a kerosene lamp, and she had to have one arm amputated. These clues paint a fascinating picture of a one-armed piano player who played for the same guys perhaps in a mining camp in which Jerry baked bread! :-) Hopefully someone can lead me to data and sources to prove and/or find the parents of Jerry and Rachael.
