I noticed that the Probate Court only carries Birth (and Death) records as early as 1867. Where would I go to find the recorded birth of someone born in Hancock County in the year 1854? I have found the person in the 1860 & 1880 Censuses but these do not give a full birth date. And in the 1900-1920 Censuses I do not know what her married is so I could not find her there (maybe Elizabeth Powell, married to William Powell). -- David R.
