I am just starting my research on the maternal lines who married into the SHANK lines. I didn't know if Mary Ann PORTER who was my 2ggrandmother had come from Hancock Co., OH or from near St. Joseph's MO where my great grandfather, Albert Clinton Shank was born in 1860. After Quantrill's Raiders burned their homestead there, Robert, Mary Ann and Albert returned to Hancock Co., OH.
