Does anyone on this list have any information about the early schools in Findlay? When I visited there in 1996, I asked at the Board of Education if there were any lists of students, or pictures, or yearbooks, etc. and was told that there was nothing that had been preserved, as far as they knew. That's kind of hard to believe and I'm just wondering if someone in the historical society or genealogical society has done any research into this area of Findlay's history. My grandmother was Mary (?) Josephine BURNS, b. 1880, d/o Charles F. & Mary Alice Werts-BURNS. Her mother died soon after her birth and she was probably raised by an assortment of relatives, which means she moved around a bit. But I believe she must have spent some years in Findlay's school system. The years between 1886 and 1897 would have been the time when she was probably in school. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that might be able to supply some information about schools that were in existence during those years.
