    1. Hancock Co CLEVIDENCE
    2. Sandra
    3. Hello, I am looking for information on my gggGrandparents John J. Clevidence and Mahala Will. So far I have run into some difficulty. William Clevidence b. 8 Aug 1869 in Fairfield Co is not listed in Ohio births, he married Sylvia May Black 21 Jan 1900 (it was his second marriage). William died 19 March 1944 in Findlay OH. William was an upholsterer according to his obit in the Republican. I cannot find any further information on John and Mahala. John was born in 1847 in OH. Mahala was born 1848 and died abt 1880. William had sisters named Eliza and Ide King (Mrs. Clarence King) I would be very grateful for some help. I am also researching Sylvia's parents. In Eli Franklin Black's obit he is mentioned as a pioneer resident of Hancock co where he was born in 1845. He died 22 Oct 1920 in Findlay. Eli was a farmer for most of his life. Nancy Jane Thompson b. 1846 in Madison Co. She married Eli and died 13 Feb 1930. Many of these and other relatives are buried in the Maple Grove cemetery. Thank you in advance, please let me know if I can help you at all. I am expecting census rentals for Hancock co for the years 1890 and 1900. Let me know if I can find any information for you. 1. CRANDALL, Angeline Melissa
    2. At 15 years old or so CRANDALL, Angeline Melissa boarded a covered wagon and headed out west so she would not have to marry an older man. Her father was a Mormon,I believe. She married BRUNTY, John T. (from Ireland?) and it is believed that may have been in Susanville, Lassen Co., CA where she also gave birth to her son, BRUNTY, John F. b. 21/04/1865, however, there seem to be no records in Lassen Co. as it was a goldrush town. (The "F" in my Grandfather's name stands for Francisco (as in San Francisco), and I believe it's because John T. might have left Ireland during the potato family and gone straight for the gold. I have no idea where to start, but had such a situation in TN and it seemes as though everybody seemed to rally 'round me. Hope you will help too.

    3. Bev, I don't know about AOL, but Roots L and CompuServe have "ABUSE" email addresses. I subscribe to CompuServe and whenever I get messages such as you have described, I send a message to Abuse@compuserve.com. This has worked for me. I now get a very minimal amount of junk mail. I bet AOL has a similar service.
