    3. While glancing thru an 1888 book I found the following reference: 'E.D. MANSFIELD, in his Personal memoirs, published by Robert Clarke & Co., in 1879, speaks of meeting Little Turtle [native American chief - 'a dark man, with swarthy countenance'] at his father's house, then Ludlow's Station, now Cumminsville, Cincinnati.'

For anyone with more of an interest in Little Turtle he is mentioned in "Historical Collections of Ohio" by Henry Howe a number of times. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~henryhowesbook/index.html Find EXACT phrase: Little Turtle in the search engine will give you a nice selection.
