While glancing thru an 1888 book I found the following reference: 'E.D. MANSFIELD, in his Personal memoirs, published by Robert Clarke & Co., in 1879, speaks of meeting Little Turtle [native American chief - 'a dark man, with swarthy countenance'] at his father's house, then Ludlow's Station, now Cumminsville, Cincinnati.'
