Hello, The address comes from WWI draft registration on George Veite brother to (Anna Veite-Stahl ) draft records, and Spring Grove cemetery records for all of them,Veite's ,Stahl's,and Hardiman's.Even the 1920 census has that as the address.Very strange that 3 families should not be listed. Thanks so very much for the help!!! Stacey, I searched every page of the 1910 OH Cincinnati Ward 20 and Ward 24 censuses without luck. I did not find the 1200 block of Grand Ave in either Ward. I'm pretty sure it should have been part of Ward 20 in 1910, but I checked Ward 24--basically north of Ward 20--just in case. I was reasonably careful, and while I don't think I overlooked the address, I can't guarantee that I didn't. Because of the location on or near Ward and ED boundaries in 1910 and 1930, I wonder if the responsible census taker in one or both censuses believed that the address belonged to an adjacent census location. Of course, that's just my guess to come up with some reasonable scenario that explains why the address shows up in 1900 and 1920 censuses but not 1910 and 1930 censuses. I still wonder if the address existed in the 1930 census. If it did not exist, you should have been able to find one of the previous residents in some other location. HeritageQuest does not have an indexed list for the 1930 Ohio census, so it would be difficult for me to find them. I assume you checked the ancestry.com index for these people. By the way, HeritageQuest Online (HQO) transcribed Clifford's surname as Herket. I downloaded and zoomed in on the wife's name. It looks like Zola, but I can't be sure. The f's in Clifford obscure her name. My wife has a relative named Zula, so I suppose that's also a reasonable possibility. I don't think it's Zella. I can see no evidence of two L's, but if the first L is there, it's hidden behind the second f in Clifford. HQO transcribes the surname two lines below Clifford as Edward Schlageter. That looks right to me, and it doesn't interfere with the Zola/Zula/Zella name above it. Good luck with your continuing search, John Otto Va.
