Hello. I've posted before about my Kerr/Thomas families but have some additional information now: Walter Kerr and Ellen, both b PA, had a son Alexander b 1830 PA who married Isabel/Anabelle G. Thomas in 1866 Hamilton county, OH. I found 1 Isabel Thomas, child of William and Christine/Christiann/Christiana Thomas in the 1850 and 1860 censuses for Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH; I also found an Anabelle Thomas, dau of Hiram Thomas in the Hamilton county census. I think my Isabel was Wm/Christiana's daughter because Alex/Isabel had a 2nd son, George Leroy, b in 1869 in Clinton county, OH and by 1870 Wm/Christiana and family were also in Clinton county, OH. Alex/Isabel's children: Richard b 1867 Roundhead, Hardin, OH, died young; George Leroy b 1869 Clinton county, d Allen county, Albert b 1871 Hardin co., William b 1875 Hardin county (d young, too, I think). Isabel died 1878 in Clinton county (possibly Clarksville). George L. stayed w/his father, Alex, and by 1880 Alex and G were living w/Alex's sister's family (Berrys). In 1880 Albert, age 9, was living with Thomas and Eleanor Burchfield in Hardin county (think Eleanor may be another of Alexander's sisters; I had not found her marr previously). Albert later lived in Allen county, along w/his brother George and father Alexander. Alex remarried in 1881 to Martha Jane Richey/Walker, who was dead by 1911. Alexander himself died 1910. There is a tombstone for Alexander in West Newton Cemetery, Allen, OH (mine). However, there is also a cemetery in Hardin county that's listed in a publication as "Alexander Kerr, wife and 3 children." I certainly suspect this refers to my Alexander too, as I don't know of another Alex Kerr in Hardin county and since Alex's 1st wife and at least 1-2 children died young. (There is another Alexander Kerr of Allen county who marr Jane McCoy but this is a different line; this Alex also had a son, GeorgeW.) William Thomas was b ca 1803 in MD, Christiana was b ca 1813 Louisiana; their children include John b ca 1838, Emily b ca 1839, Margaret b ca 1841, George b ca 1843, Isabelle b ca 1845, Richard b ca 1849Edward b ca 1851 and Herbert b ca 1853. In the 1850 census other kin were with them, too: Osborn b ca 1809 (no doubt Wm's brother), Edward b ca 1834, William b ca 1836 and Sarah b ca 1838. Not all W/C's children traveled to Clinton county with them so I assume at least some of them stayed in Hamilton county, OH. Albert Kerr married Rosa Gant ca 1898; they had Arda/Ardie b 1899, Golda/ie b ca 1904, Mary b ca 1906, Walter b ca 1910, Robert b ca 1913. Albert had died by 1920 and Rosa remarried Ell Lightner; they were living in Pleasant, Hardin, OH. From SSDI records I believe Ardie, and Goldie both died around 1919; Mary and Walter may have died young, too, unsure. My George Leroy Kerr m Minta Almira Richey/Fess; she was b ca 1872, died 1911; they lived in Allen and Auglaize counties. I'd like very much to hear from descendants of the above lines I've mentioned. Pavla Chandler misc notes, comments: ---Walter Kerr died 1879 in Roundhead, Hardin, OH ---Ellen Kerr may have died 1872 in Hamilton county, OH (think the one found is mine) ---Alexander Kerr served in the military for Ohio; just got his military papers back and they confirm he was born in Washington county, PA (also that the family had lived in Tuscarawas county, OH, then Hardin county, OH). ---Most of Walter/Ellen's children married in Hardin county, OH. Alex's first marr was in Hamilton co, then his 2nd in Hardin county. The daughters married Francis Berry, Andrew Berry, John Harbert, Thomas Bennett, Abraham Shockey (the ones I have record of). ---A Walter Kerr was in the 1830 Nottingham, Washington, PA census - sure he is mine. My Walter definitely was in Tuscarawas county, OH for the 1840 census, in Rose, Carroll, OH for the 1850 census and in the Roundhead, Hardin, OH census for 1860 and 1870. My Alexander was in the 1850 and 1860 censuses w/his parents, in the 1870 census for Cedar, Benton, Iowa w/Isabel and Richard and George, then in the 1880 census for Allen or Auglaize county (doing this by memory, don't remember which it is). ---Just recvd Samuel Kerr's will from Washington county, PA d. 1829/1830; he lists his children including a Walter who I'm sure is mine. But, I'd love confirmation. Does anyone out there have early Kerr birth or marriage records from Washington county, PA? Specifically, I'd love proof that my Walter b ca 1795-97 was Samuel's son, also would love Walter/Ellen's marriage record (so I'd have the date and her maiden name), also births of Walter's children in Washington county, PA (Alex b 1830, other children George, Rhoda, Charlotte, Catherine, Elvira, Nancy, Ellen/Eleanor, others).
