Hello John, Thank you so very much for the help.I'm glad that Hertiage transcribed Clifford as a Herket.I went back to ancestry.com and I'll be hanged if I can find NO Herkets in or around the Cincy area, for any previous years as well. It's all totally strange to me.I do remember as a child that my Dad took us to see his Aunt Jessy,I could have only been maybe 3 or 4 at the time.I know we were in Cincy,I wonder if Zola was this Jessy. She looked older then my grandma Hazel, but my grandma could have been drying hair.Grandma died when I was 10 so everything I have gotten to date is by the memory of a 10 year old 46 years ago.My father who is still living and 83 had no idea that my grandmother had 5 siblings. He never knew what his mother's maiden name was.I was fortunate to remember that her mother( Margaret Viete) second marriage was to John H.Miners, who lived to be 103 and died in 1982.I was very lucky to have found him at the Spring Grove cemetery and BAM the was my Great grandmother, buried right next to him. Some wonderful person found her first marriage and thats how I found the Hardiman name and some of my family. I thank you again and I'll go back to hunting Herket's and see if I can find any anywhere, Thanks, Stacy
There are some Herkerts listed in Cincinnati in 1917, but no Herkets. The Herkerts are also listed in the 1928/29 Cincinnati City Directory.
