    2. Phyllis, The Veteran's Administration is the organization that provides free military markers. Check their web site for what they provide, cost, requirements, etc. www.va.gov I checked with them last year when my husband passed away. My understanding is that they provide a free headstone, but there will be charges by the cemetery to place it.
