Hi, The Amanda Sheward that you found in the 1880 census is my great great grandmother. She is the person whom I believe was married to Henry Ward Stocker, but I'm not sure yet. A researcher did find a Manda E. Stocker the right age who died in 1900 and was buried close to a Henry Stocker in Auglaize County, Ohio, although she couldn't find her in the death book for the county. Yesterday I sent a request to that county for a death certificate for this Manda E. Stocker. I hope they will find one and that it lists her parents. Do you know if there is a place on the Internet where we could look for marriages or another good way to find it? Swisher and they never married. My great-grandmother Lizzie Bell was adopted by an Adolphus and Sibbie Jane Devers Moody family who then left Champaign Co., Ohio and moved to Richmond, Wayne Co., Indiana. My ggrandmother never knew her birth mother Amanda, but her Aunts' Leora (Dode) Moody McFarland and Minnie Lamar Swisher Bowers wrote letters to her and gave her her family tree. So far, I have found many records about Amanda, but I have lost her after December 1884 when she signed her father's estate papers. I did not find a death record for her in Champaign Co., so I think she did marry someone. This Amanda Sheward who married Henry Stocker could be her.
