    3. Hi Marilyn, I went there, and yes, he is entitled! I got a little emotional when I realized that my fathers dream of getting a stone for him and his mom will probably happen, and that my father will get to see it, god willing. It's so ironic that this all transpired today, as it is the 52nd anniversary of my grandfathers death. Apparently my grandmothers name would not get to be on the stone, because of the time period. Perhaps there's a way around that, where we could maybe pay for the additional engraving. I don't know what will happen with the cemetery and the "back fees" that they want before allowing a stone to be placed there. Perhaps the VA can get around that. Thanks to all of you for your help, you've certainly made my family very happy!!! -Lori -- Kaesemein@aol.com wrote: Lori, Headstones are provided by the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs at www.va.gov Click on Burial, then click on Headstones and markers in the left column for more information. Do you know if he would be entitled to a headstone? Because if he is, I need to do something, as there are no markers on his grave at all. (Boy, what a gift to my Dad that would be, as he always wanted a stone for his parents, but never could afford it. Once he attempted, but they wanted thousands of dollars in back "perpetual fees" before they'd approve a stone!) Thanks much!
