Linda, I appreciate your suggestions and I will try to follow up on some of them. Some of these suggestions I have already tried. I just wanted you to be aware out of the 10 people listed on the Martin surname list, at least half of the emails no longer work. Perhaps a note next to their names might be appropriate. Thanks for your response. I'm resending to the list & hope you get it by that means. If someone submits a surname to the surname registry & then later changes their e-mail address but does not notify the registry of the change, there isn't a whole lot the webmaster can do. You may be able to find a current e-mail address for the individual you are trying to contact by searching for that individual in a variety of places. You could search: A) this list's archives to see if the person sent a message to the list recently B) if there is a Martin list at rootsweb, try searching that as well C) message boards at ancestry/rootsweb or FTM GenForum for both Hamilton Co. and/or the Martin surname D) Google search for the individual you're looking for E) check http://www.rootsweb.com/~archreg/ which is an e-mail registry to see if the individual you're looking for is in the registry. F) check Rootsweb's surname list & other resources there. I can think of a dozen other places to search, you'll need to be creative. Not everyone remembers to change their e-mail address in all of the places it may have appeared over time, but usually if the individual is still active with genealogy, you can usually find them somewhere searching for something or someone :-) Linda Boorom ----- Original Message ----- From: "Juvanne Martin" <juvanne@earthlink.net> To: <OHHAMILT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, June 17, 2005 11:19 AM Subject: [OH-HAMILT] bounced emails on the Hamilton surname page > Webmaster, would you PLEASE contact me?
