Dear List: I am trying to locate the parents of my husband's great-grandfather, Alexander Constantiine Martin. He was born 15 Dec. 1833 in Cincinatti, Ohio to a father born in Virginia and a mother born in New Jersey. Recently, I found Hannah Martin, 44, living in Warren County, Washington Township, Ohio in 1850 with her family. There was no husband so either he died prior to 1850 or they got a divorce. Hannah was born in New Jersey and had a 16 year old son named Constine. The census reads: Isaac Smith 28 M Farmer born Ohio Rhoda Smith 22 F born Ohio Hannah Smith 5 F born Ohio Theodore Smith 2 M born Ohio Harriet E. Smith 4/12 F born Ohio Hannah Martin 44 F born New Jersey Constine Martin 16 M laborer born Ohio Charles Martin 13 M born Ohio ______(can't read) Martin 11 M born Ohio Mary Martin 9 F born Ohio [I feel Rhoda Smith must be the daughter of Hannah Martin, since they are living in the same household and she named her first daughter, Hannah.] Does anyone know about early marriages in Hamilton County, Ohio sometime around 1827? I am looking for a man named Martin who married a woman named Hannah. I am also looking for the marriage of Isaac Smith to Rhoda Martin around 1844....
