I just received a copies of obituaries for Hiram Smith and Elizabeth J. Smith from the The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. It did not take too long and the charge was only $.50. I had e-mailed the library with the date of the publication and my name. They were great! Here are the obituaries. I am also including the other names listed on the same page. I did not transcribe the page in its entirety. If anyone wants more information, I will be glad to share. >From Cincinnati Commercial 10-27-1866 Died SMITH -- On Thursday, October 25, of cholera, Elizabeth J. Friends of the family are invited to attend. (As a matter of information, the undertaker was J. Soards & Company according to the information at Spring Grove.) Others on the same page are as follows: James Davison of Covington, Kentucky, aged 56 Lucy Belle Helman, age 2 yrs 1 mo, daughter of W.H. Helman and Susie E. Helman, grandparent J. W. Harris, wife of John Harris, aged 33 >From Cincinnati Commercial July 10, 1883 DEATHS SMITH -- Monday evening, July 9, 1883, at 4 o'clock, Hiram Smith, in his 73d year, at his late residence, Norwood. Due notice of funeral will be given. Unfortunately, this is not my Dr. Hiram Smith. This Hiram Smith is buried at Spring Grove. He was born August 31, 1810 in Hamilton County, Ohio. His parents were Abraham and Elizabeth Smith. I still need help finding my Dr. Hiram Smith. If anyone can help, I would appreciate your help. Smiths are not the easiest people to track. In the 1870 census Dr. Hiram Smith was in Cumminsville, Ohio - essentially a suburb on the west side of Cincinnati. My information shows that Dr. Hiram Smith was born March 22, 1811 in Woodhull, Steuben County, New York. He married 2nd Mary Louisa Martin, July 14, 1868. I believe he was a member of the Presbyterian Church. The 1880 census does not show a Hiram that fits the information I have.
