Pat, I found a reference to Joseph Oehler at Ancestry.com in the Family/Local History section. It is from this book which had several volumes. Cincinnati, the Queen City : 1788-1912. Goss, Charles Frederic,. Chicago. S.J. Clarke Pub. Co.. 1912. It is located in Vol. 3 pg. 184. In summary, it has the biography of Joseph L. Roth who was mother was Mr. Margaret Roth. Margaret Roth was the daughter of Joseph Oelher, granddaughter of Simon Oehler. Also, there reference to Simon Oehler in the same book different volume. Simon is referenced in Vol. 1 pg. 526. Briefly, it says that Simon and 3 other families arrived on Sept. 24 from Germany. The year was 1817. I hope this helps.
