    2. Well, we're more a page for Hamilton County, Ohio, but the advice would probably be the same: The 1880 census is free online, with an every-name index, at Familysearch.org. When you get to Familysearch, click on "Search", then on "Census", then choose the 1880 census. The rest will be easy. You enter the name you're looking for, and the place (county and state) Even if the person wasn't the "head of the household" (i.e., if they were in an orphanage,) their names should still appear in the index.
