Wayne, You probably already know this, but just in case you don't...go to the web page listed after this paragraph, enter Hilshorst as surname, select "13-17" on the year index and type in Hamilton for the county. On the left, you can click on the details of obtaining a death certificate which should give you info like parents names and other information of interest. http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/ Here's the info you should see: HILSHORST HAROLD E County Name: HAMILTON Date of Death: 7/14/1914 Volume Number: 1413 Certificate Number: 39493 1. I checked the 1910 census for Hamilton Co and found three young men but no Harold. However, I did find two whose given name begins with the letter E: Edward a boarder age 20, was born in OH. Ernest, 25, born in KY, lives with his wife Fannie and three children, William, Edna and David. 2. Other Hilshort's in Hamilton Co. OH: Mary Hilshorst, 45, and her daughter Edna, 21, are listed as mother-in-law and sister-in-law of David L. Smith. David, 27, is married to Eva M. Smith, 23, and they have a daughter Dorothy who is just under 2 years old. Mary and Edna were both born in OH (according to this census). Birthplace for Eva is listed as KY. Emma Hilshorst, a 47-year-old widow who lives alone. Emma's birthplace is listed as Indiana. 3. The only other Hilshorst in the 1910 U. S. census: Henry Hilshorst, 49, living across the river Ohio River from Cincinnati in Kenton County KY with wife Mary, 39, and sister Elizabeth, 42. Henry and his sister were listed as KY births. His wife Mary was listed as an OH birth. Good Luck, John Otto Va.
