I am new to the list and am researching a Rose Lewark (Luark). She was born in Wabash Indiana the daughter of Andrew T. Lewark (Luark) and Eliza (Vandyne). I find Rose in the 1910 and 1920 census living in Hamilton County Ohio, I do not have a record of her after 1920. I am hoping that someone will be able to tell me if there is a death record for her in Hamilton County. In the 1920 Census she was 58 years old and widowed. If a marriage record exists I would be interested in that as well. As far as I know she did not have any children. Thank you for any info! Chris
Chris, here are some bits and pieces related to LEWARK/LUARK. I found Rose in the 1928/29 Cincinnati City Directory, but by 1941 she is no longer listed. From the 1896 Cincinnati City Directory: No LEWARKs or LUARKs listed. From the 1916/1917 Cincinnati City Directory: Russell Lewark, bartender, h. 634 W. 4th. No LUARKs listed. From the 1928/1929 Cincinnati City Directory: Rose Lewark, seamstress, h. rear 218 E. 18th. No LUARKs listed. From the 1941 Cincinnati City Directory: No Lewarks listed. No Luarks listed. From the Spring Grove website (www.springgrove.org): Mahlon Vandyne Co. I, 12th Ohio Cavalry, Died July 31, 1864. Internment July 4th, 1869. Lot owner: Soldiers. Ordered by Brig. Gen. I.D. Bingham. Removed from Camp Dennison. Section 21, Lot C146. Phyllis
