Hi Tom, I have the church records, I must not have made that clear. The only thing contained was my ggrandparents names, date of the wedding and the names of the witnesses. Lori, Have you considered this entry from the 1870 census for La Salle, Illinois? Parents are Lawrence and Mary Ryan. Only problem seems to be the ages - Mary (senior) is 60 which would have made her 47 when Mary E. was born. Still, I've seen huge mistakes on censuses too. But, do note that Mary E. was born in Ohio. Perhaps Ellen M was Mary Ellen.
