    1. Re:cemetery bks, also HERRING/FESS
    2. Thanks for responding, Bev. There appear to have been Hennings, Herren/Herrons, Herrings, etc. My Barbara Herring married Henry Fess in 1849 I think & their marriage record has her as "Herron;" others have interpreted it Herren, Hennon. It was really Herring though. She was the daughter of Jacob HERRING and Mary Magdalene FISHER. Interestingly, this brings up a question. In the 1850 census Barbara and Henry are listed as Fests; two homes away is Barbara's family; however the mother's name is given as Lana. Does anyone know if this Lana is the same as Mary, just a nickname or something? Jacob Herring was in Perry county before going to Hamilton county (like 1820 in Perry), along with his brother Bernard. Think Jacob and Bernard's father was Johnannes/John Herring. Does anyone on the list descend fromthis line? The Herrings originally came from Pennsylvania, before that Alsace/Germany (going by memory so hope I have that right). Good luck with your Hennings, Bev! Pavla Chandler
