Susan, I recall that someone on this list got medical records from the Ohio Historical Society for a relative who was confined to Longview State Hospital as a mental patient years ago. Perhaps there's a difference as to whether you can get the records from the court or from the mental hospital? You might try contacting the Ohio Historical Society to find out. They might be able to also give you information about the adoption records. www.ohiohistory.org Marilyn ------------original message----------------- In a message dated 8/22/2005 2:12:43 P.M. I've tried to find out, but no one but that clerk holding the record seems to know. Does anyone know where I could find out for sure? ........a librarian in Preble County and she said adoption records in Ohio are sealed forever. Is this true?
