    3. Charles Ludwig's book "Playmates of the Towpath" contains a map of the Canal. In the area of what is now Colerain and Monmouth is a rectangle Labeled 'House Refuge'. This would be on the west side of the canal. A lot of burials were done at Wesleyan Cemetery for individuals that called the House of Refuge their residence. In fact, Wesleyan had a Section dedicated to interments from the House of Refuge, down along the south side fronting on Hoffner Street. Bob S
