Hello Genealogy Friends. I'm not sure I made myself clear in my first post regarding the book "Ohio Wills and Estates to 1850" by Carol W. Bell. I have seen the book at a library and copied down several estates from the index.....I am asking where the estate records would be kept in Hamilton County for the period between 1797 and 1834. I have written to the Biegen Library and also Hamilton County. I feel these records must be somewhere or how did they extract them for this index. I am not familiar with where things are in Hamilton County and appreciate your help. Thank you, Stephanie in Oregon -- Want an e-mail address like mine? I recall years ago hearing that some of the "estate" records were from records at the Cincinnati Historical Soc. Library, but were not avail. for public viewing. These were from some insurance company/bonds & even though ancient in age, the library could not allow access to the records because of possible "private information" ie. adoptions & such. Go figure! The website is here: http://library.cincymuseum.org/ Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: "stephanie miller" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, January 25, 2008 10:47 PM Subject: [OHHAMILT] "Ohio Wills and Estates to 1850" > Hello Genealogy Friends.
