I am looking to make contact with descendants or any individual with information on Sarah Batten/Battin/Batton or Comfort Postlethwaite/Postlewaite/Postle. I have been researching this family for 20 years and gladly will assist anyone with interest in this line. William Wear was born about 1805 in Monongalia Co. VA. He may be the son of David Wear/Weir/Wier in the 1810 Greene Co., PA or the 1820 Monongalia Co., VA census records. Likely siblings are Alexander Wear/Wier/Ware, born 1809, and James Wear, born 1803. William Wear was married twice and alternated between the two women over 25 years. His descendants are: William Wear was born 1805 in Monongalia Co. VA and died 1850 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co., OH. Sarah Batten was born 28 Jan 1806 in VA and died about 1882, maybe in Wadestown, Monongalia Co., VA David Scott/Conrad Wear was born 1825 in Monongalia Co., VA and died 1895 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co. OH. He married Mary Catherine Miller and Mary Margaret Williams. Susannah Wear was born 1826 in PA or VA and married Jesse Orndoff born 1816. Unknown/Alex Wear was born 1828. Unknown/John Wear was born 1830. John William Wear born 1832 in PA or VA and died 1886 in Hannibal, MO. He married Isabella Williams. Robert Wear was born 1839 in VA and died 1903 in Belmont Co., OH. He married Minerva Shriver. William Henry Harrison Wear/Weir was born 1841 in VA and died in 1916 in VA. He married Elizabeth (Louisa) Shriver. Comfort Ann Postlewait was born 1807 in Monongahela Co., PA and died 1888 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co. OH. Known relative is E. F. Postle born 1830 in VA. Marshall Wear was born 1835 in PA and died 1873 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH. He married Anna Maria Wells and Mary Curran West. James A. Wear was born 1836 in Belmont Co., OH and died 1927 in CA. He married Susan A. Farquhar and Rose E. Wells. Henry Franklin Wear was born 1837 in Wheeling Co., WV and died in 1873 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co., OH. He married Mattie S. Boulard. Sarah Jeannie Wear was born 1844 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co., OH. She married Unknown Cochan. Benjamin C. Wear was born 1846 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co., OH and died 1913 in Hamilton Co., OH. He married Jennie V. Spicer. Elizabeth Wear was born 1850 in Portsmouth, Scioto Co., OH. She married Edward P. Catlin.
