    1. [OHHAMILT] Old German newspapers at the Cincinnati Public Library
    2. Colin Roth
    3. Hello Everyone, I am curious to know if my thinking is correct on the following. It sounds like the Cincinnati Public Library has in its collection on microfilm the following old German newspapers, "The Cincinnati Freie Presse, 1874-1920" and "Cincinnatier Zeitung, 1887-1901". From the Hamilton County Genealogical Society web site I found three specific death notices of interest in the "Cincinnati newspaper death notice name indexes" database. From what I read on the HCGS web site, it sounds like the Cincinnati Public Library has the following books, "Index of death lists appearing in the Cincinnatier Zeitung, 1887-1901 - Call #: 929.377178 qC57412Zh" and " Index of death and other notices appearing in Cincinnati Freie Presse, 1874-1920 - Call #: 929.377178 qC5743Zh". From these two books it sounds like one should be able to find the exact newspaper page number and date of notice for the desired death notice of interest. Would I be correct in thinking that once one obtains the newspaper page number and date of notice that one can then get in contact with the Magazines and Newspapers Department of the library and place a photocopy request for death notices from the "Cincinnatier Zeitung" and "The Cincinnati Freie Presse" microfilms? Thank again for any answers!Colin _________________________________________________________________ Connect and share in new ways with Windows Live. http://www.windowslive.com/share.html?ocid=TXT_TAGHM_Wave2_sharelife_012008
