Downtown library, courthouse, cemeteries, ? I just did some Googling of downtown hotels (hotels near 45202) and came up with this one: (there are other downtown hotels but they are 3-6 blocks away. http://www.garfieldsuiteshotel.com/ I think it is within a block of the library if that is your primary aim. Personally I wouldn't wonder around downtown at night alone, but during the day and early evening you would be fine. I don't know how that would work out in terms what they charge for parking your car in addition to the room. Parking around the library can be a bit of a hassle. Here's another option, though it's about a 30 minute drive. On the east side of town there is an area called Eastgate - it's a big shopping mall area. There's a Holiday Inn and a Fairfield Inn out that way (you can Google hotels near 45244 to see these. They are also close to the expressway (I-275) so it is an easy drive to downtown. There's a hotel on Montgomery rd which I think is in Norwood. That might be ok. The area around the University and the hospitals - Clifton - is iffy for someone alone at night. I have been going to Cincy yearly for the last 7 years or so to do genealogical research for 1 week at a time. I have been staying at the Red Roof Inn in the Beachmont area. They have a weekly rate that is quite reasonable. It is near I-275 and is an easy drive to the city. Their phone number is (513) 528-2741.
