    3. I'm trying to find information and hopefully photos of a business that operated in Cincinnati in the second half of the 19th century until aproximately 1910. William N. Hobart (1836-1912) learned the distillery business from Lowell Fletcher. When Hobart became a partner, the firm changed names from Fletcher & Co. to Fletcher, Hobart & Co. Lowell Fletcher died in 1974, and the distillery company became known as Hobart & Co. Later, Hobart was joined by William Maddux and the distillery firm became Maddux, Hobart & Co. When William Maddux died, the firm became the Diamond Distillery or Diamond Distilleries. William Hobart sold Diamond Distilleries in 1910 to Union Distilleries. The company had operations in numerous locations: Lowell Fletcher built a 5-story building at the SE corner of Vine & Front Sts. and two 2-story building on the north side of Water St., between Vine and Walnut. Maddux, Hobart & Co. had a large distillery on both sides of the street on Gest St. at Millcreek. The address was given as 368-390 Gest. It appears that the sewerage facility is located there now. Diamond Distillery/Diamond Distilleries was located on Pearl St. at 107 E. Pearl St. and from 415 to 425 East Pearl St. The location in the 400 block of Pearl Street burned January 1, 1907, but is supposed to have been rebuilt. William Newal Hobart was President of the May Festival for about a dozen years, and was also a past president of the Chamber of Commerce. William Maddux owned and operated his 'ranch' - Oxford Park - and bred and raised cattle from Europe. I'm hoping to find any additional information and photos of these men and buildings that you might have in your archives. If you're not able to help, perhaps you can put me in touch with someone who might have some photos or info. Thank you for your time and consideration, Gloria
