I just tried a search for a marriage record. The index said the record was in vol 100 page 240. But when I retrieved that page the person I was looking for wasn't there (nor was he on any of the surrounding pages). But I noticed that the marriages are displayed 2 per page and, besides a page number, are individually numbered. So I decided look for marriage #240 instead of page #240. I started by dividing the page number given in the index by 2 and looking at page #120. That page contained marriage #237 and #238. So I looked at the next page (#121) and found the marriage (#240) that I was looking for.
