Hi Sue, You didn't mention which the census year in which you found this information. Was the naturalization date consistent in all the censuses in which Maria appeared? Ann is right, it's highly unlikely your great-grandmother was naturalized alone. She would have fallen under the "others" category when her father or her husband were naturalized.
