The Butler County Records Center and Archives, located at 123 North Third St. in downtown Hamilton, has a revised operating schedule as follows: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and Friday, by appointment only. Staff will still physically be working at the Center facilities every Friday, but will be either be working at our off-site storage facility and providing other records maintenance/management services for county offices. In addition to our full-time staff, volunteer genealogists are usually available to assist researchers during our regularly scheduled operating days and we also have several other methods for you to request copies of records. You can make a request via our web site: www.butlercountyohio.org/records to access the online request form, send email to: bcarchives@butlercountyohio.org or telephone: 513-887-3437. You can also submit your request by mail: 123 N. Third Street, Hamilton, OH 45011. We aren’t staffed to provide general research, therefore when making a request, please be as specific as possible, i.e. the type of record desired, e.g., birth, death, marriage, wills/estates, etc. including a close approximation of the date of the event, and your contact information so we may contact you with any questions.. Our charges are nominal. For uncertified records, the first five copies are free and additional copies are five cents, plus postage if sent via mail. For certified copies, the charge is $2.00 per page. In addition, for voluminous requests we charge for postage plus any special mailing materials. We look forward to continuing to assist you in your quest to learn more about your ancestors - a comprehensive research facility for genealogists and a centralized records management services to the community and county offices.
