    1. [OHHAMILT] Cincinnati home architecture help needed
    2. Nancy Wiseman
    3. Hello, I am writing a biography of one of my ancestors and would like to know what a typical home in Cincinnati was like in the mid 1820s. At that time, he was a shoemaker and lived on Walnut Street between River and Front Streets (former location of Cinergy Field). In the 1840s he was a justice of the peace and later a judge in the Court of Common Pleas and lived on Longworth Street between Smith and John Streets (now in the tangle of the interstates on the western edge of downtown Cincinnati) Wood floor? Dirt floor? One story? Two? One room with loft? Center hallway with rooms to the sides? Any experts out there? If anyone could point me in the right direction of who I could contact, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

    2. just for starters, you could go to www.hamiltoncountyauditor.org and look for properties on Longworth........if lucky, you might find one that was built in the 1800's and see a photo of it. I would suspect the answers to your questions depended on the wealth of a person as to what kind of home they built or bought. -----Original Message----- From: Nancy Wiseman <nanwise@yahoo.com> To: OHHAMILT@rootsweb.com Sent: Tue, Feb 9, 2010 9:17 pm Subject: [OHHAMILT] Cincinnati home architecture help needed Hello, I am writing a biography of one of my ancestors and would like to know hat a typical home in Cincinnati was like in the mid 1820s.
