Vicki, Just quickly read this, and I see one of the sons is named after James Oury. I do have some information on him if you are interested. He was somewhat a prominent fellow in the 1820s-40's in Whitewater Township. As far as your Cooks go, I will have to dig into my WHitewater Twp info but I'm not very familiar with the family. As far as the two maiden names, it is possible that she was a widow. If I find something on the Cooks, I'll get back you. GIve me several days, I may not get right to it! On the 1820 census there are three Cook names all living next door to each other. My direct line is with John Cook born about 1795, in Wales. He married Sarah Morrow, or Sarah Graham. On two death records that I have it gives two different maiden names for her, she was born in Ireland, 1793. They had five children that I know about. George Washington born 1 July 1823, Hamilton County James Oury born 25 March 1825, maybe Hamilton County Sarah Jane born 1830, Ohio Elizabeth M. born 29 Feb. 1832, Fountain County, Indiana John born 3 Nov. 1833 Shawnee twp., Fountain County, Indiana The other two Cook names on the census for 1820 are, George 26/45 age group and James 26/45 age group. I believe all three men are connected in some way. By 1830 James moves to Cincinnati and George is still in Whitewater. I can not find George after 1830, so I am thinking that he died between 1830-1840.
