thank you, but I have done that with the $26,000 and find at 2006 rates, it says about a half million dollars. that $26,000 figure may be somebody's guess or what they wanted to believe.............is not a confirmed figure. my question pertains to determining the value of the estate based on the amount of bonds required to process the estate. i.e. a $1000 bond is required for an estate of $10,000, or a $5000 bond is required for an estate of $50,000, and so on................................... is there a method of doing that? -----Original Message----- From: Tom <texastee10@att.net> To: ohhamilt@rootsweb.com; harand8479@aol.com Sent: Fri, Jan 15, 2010 11:26 am Subject: Re: [OHHAMILT] Question--Guardian & Estate Bond http://www.westegg.com/inflation/ This website will calculate what yesteryears dollars would be worth in ecent times. Hi All - Thanks for your very thoughtful and helpful responses. If some of your Cincinnati research subjects may have moved to Dayton, maybe you'll find this site posted recently by a Dayton lister to be of interest (if you don't already know if it) - regards, Maryl Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio: http://www.calvarycemeterydayton.org/locate/
I looked in Ancestry.com and found William and Rosa in the 1900 Census, Cincinnati Ward 7, Hamilton Co. Ohio William Kling 63, head of household,b. Jan 1837, Germany White, Male married 36 yrs., Immigration year Unknown, Father b. Germany, Mother b. Germany Rosa Kling 54, spouse,36 b. Aug 1845 mother of 10, b Ohio White, female, married 36 years., father b. Germany, Mother b. Germany Calculating 36 from 1900 would have them married in 1864. The children are listed if you are interested, 5 are living with them at the time. Does this help in any way. Maryl, According to the 1900 Census, he lists that they were married 36 years, being married in 1864. If you have not yet found their death certificates, one place to get a copy is..... www.pilot.familysearch.org .............in the search box, put William Kling, for the event, I clicked on death, and place is Ohio...........................when it comes up, you can finagle around by clicking on the << marks to view the actual certificate and print.............whole bunch of info there..............on both of them.............. Others may have handy the links for the Cinti. Public Library where you can order copies of obits, etc. and I think the Hamilton County Genealogical Society (where the marriage indexes are) has information on how to order copies of the marriage........ Hope this helps some............it just takes some digging.......................Helen -----Original Message----- From: Maryl <mmhook@comcast.net> To: ohhamilt@rootsweb.com Sent: Thu, Jan 14, 2010 12:32 pm Subject: [OHHAMILT] Kling/Jacob 1865 marriage - Hamilton Probate Records Hi All - If any expert on the Hamilton Probate Records wants a challenge - I am woefully inept at searching them for the marriage approx. 1865 f Wilhelm Kling & Rosina Jacob (could be William, Rose or Jacobs lso). In my (albeit pretty limited) VB/FP death notice, they didn't often say when the couple was married. However that isn't to say that they might not. It just depends on how much the family posted in the newspaper. The obituaries/death notices that I have seen with my own eyes from those newspapers have generally said "so and so, beloved parent/spouse etc, died at time, on day of month. Survived by children, (maybe listing spouses of children), date of funeral mass/service/burial, and maybe a poem. One or two also listed where that person was born in Germany. Hello, Would anyone have the Ohio, 1851-1900 Marriage Index to do a look-up for me? I am looking for a marriage of Matthew Dill to a Mary ?? in Hamilton County around 1872, or before. Mary's last name could have been Wood, or Jones. If you cannot find either of these last names for Mary, then any Mary would help me. These are the only clues I have. Thank you for your help, Barbara in Indiana
I do not see Matthew Dill or anything close to it on the online index that the Probate Court just put online. Found a couple Mary Jones. Different grooms. Hi folks, Has anyone figured out how to save a copy of a marriage record to their computer as a JPEG? Of the two records I found, I haven't been able to save them. Marilyn
Two questions: a. one from this lady on the Prussia list which is below. b. the second from me: I know the S stands for Soldier but what does the J(ournal) mean? My gr grandfather was a civil war soldier and I had figured that he got his citizenship that way. So I too would like to know about obtaining records and about the meaning of Journal. The system is not too hard. Marriage license are in books in the years listed ect: 1817-1837 and so on. Marriage volumes up to book 390 you can pull through your printed at home. Each listing have list of books at bottom. For my own marriage record (Philip R. BERGELT/Honora Ann CAREY 27 January 1962) I finally, after many pages of looking, came up with Volume 672, page 104. When entering those numbers in the record search boxes, all I get is "Invalid Volume". Not easy to figure out how to use this system. Ann Bergelt Florida
>From what I saw of the Birth Records they are a two page entry and you have to scroll down to get the parents names. My question on all of this is, I am not seeing anything being reported as far as Births go for HARRISON TOWNSHIP? Can someone enlighten me as to what I may be missing here?
