    2. Peg Fay-Feder
    3. Wolfgang, I live in Cinci and do lots of on-line research here trying to find information about my many relatives who lived here. I will see if I can find anything about Allison for you. I am busy this week and next so it will be a few weeks until I can spend time looking for information. Peg Fay-Feder -----Original Message----- From: ohhamilt-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ohhamilt-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of 22.9uli78@web.de Sent: Friday, January 29, 2010 11:40 AM To: OHHAMILT@rootsweb.com Subject: [OHHAMILT] Aid for searching my half sister in Cincinnati, Ohio Dear members of mailing list, X... One of my aunts raised up with my father and she knows, that he was married, got a daughter and came in divorce with his wife. Unfortunately she only knows my sisters name and that she lived in Cincinnati, but they had for long time no contact. She must be born in Ohio between 1944 and 1956. And now my question to all members of the mailing list: . Is there somebody who can help me to find my sister Allison Scott (Alison, Alicen, Alyson)? Whole my American family tried to find out the data of Allison, but we had no success. We strongly need help to search through vital records. Has one of you input or searching possibility to Ohio birth, marriage, and divorce records, probably of Cincinnati? This are the data of my father: Vincent Boyd SCOTT, born September 10 in 1924, Lafayette, Indiana, died October 13 in 1969, Standard, Putnam, Illinois, married circa 1944 or 1946, divorced probably before 1956, (we don't know it!) 1956 he moved to Peru area, Illinois. Thank you very much for your help and let me know, when I can return the favor! Sincerely Wolfgang Liphardt

    3. Lois, I have a copy of the Hamilton County Burial Records, Volume One, Wesleyan Cemetery, 1842-1971. Thomas FIRTH does show up there, but the data is as you have listed - with 2 additional bits of information. He is buried in the FIRTH Lot in Sec. A. A few years back, I helped index the Wesleyan data. There is a WESLEYAN site at >http//www.rootsweb.com/%7Eohhamcem< which may give you some other information. I hope that this will be of some value. 3. Thank you for all for helping to verify this marriage. The death certificate of Elizabeth Charles (Lizzie H. Because there would be a separate listing for each volume, the only info that gets typed is name and page number. As word documents, the pages could eventually be combined and all would be searchable either visually or by using "find on this page." > > Any ideas? Or, hopefully, has this already been done? > Thank you. You may find that the estate indices are easier to use. They are grouped in longer periods, so you don't have to look through as many different volumes (though typically each letter of surname is a separate download): 1852-1884 1885-1899 1900-1909 1910-1919 1920-1925 1926-1932 1933-1936 1937-1942 1943-1949 1950-1953 1954-1958 1959-1963 1964-1968 1969-1971 1972-1973 This of course means that there are more names per index. The ordering varies, mostly being organized in chronological order, but grouped first by first letter of surname, then first letter of given name. The 1950-1953 & 1954-1958 indices are in true alphabetical order. The estate indices are mostly typewritten and usually contain case number, name, year, and volume & page number in the estate volumes. With this information you can get the handwritten estate docket record, which if there is a probated will has an entry giving the volume and page number in the will volumes. While this goes through another step, getting the estate record will give you some information if the estate was probated, even if there was no will. That information usually contains the names of the administrator (usually a close relative of the deceased), sureties (also often relatives), and appraisers of the estate. --Erich -- Erich Schraer, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA erich@wubios.wustl.edu

    3. My next step would be to pursue the sons and their families and contact those still living to see what family history was passed down through the generations. Being born in 1826, I doubt Thomas lived long enough that a death certificate would be any help. A formal death / birth certificate didn't come in use until late in December, 1908. Have you tried alternative spellings of his last name? Marriage records at that time requested very little information, not even age, just that they had reached a certain age. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lois B." <loisgen@yahoo.com> To: <OHHAMILT@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, January 30, 2010 9:06 PM Subject: [OHHAMILT] FIRTH Hi Listers, I'm new here. 1. [OHHAMILT] Aid for searching my half sister in Cincinnati, Ohio
    2. Dear members of mailing list, I strongly need help by searching marriage, divorce and birth records from Cincinnati. Myself offer to help you for German ancestry researches in Rhineland Palatinate especially Roman Catholic church books. This is my story: I am born 1946 in Germany as an only child without aunts and uncles. My father is an US soldier from World War II who fall in love with my mother when he was stationed in Germany in 1945. Up to December 2009 I had no relationship to my father. We had only some pictures of him, and his army serial identification tag. He got this my mother when he leaved Germany and wrote her up his address in Lafayette, Indiana, USA. We searched all the years for him without result. Then I found suddenly his grave on the web side "Find a Grave". That was the beginning of a modern romance. By the data of the obituary of death I got contact to my American family members. As from now I have a big, big family. My grandfather had 14 children and step children. Sadly they had to raise up in three differing families and so they do not know much from the others. We strongly need help to search through vital records. . Has one of you input or searching possibility to Ohio birth, marriage and divorce records, probably of Cincinnati? This are the data of my father: Vincent Boyd SCOTT, born September 10 in 1924, Lafayette, Indiana, died October 13 in 1969, Standard, Putnam, Illinois, married circa 1944 or 1946, divorced probably before 1956, (we don't know it!) 1956 he moved to Peru area, Illinois. Thank you very much for your help and let me know, when I can return the favor! Sincerely Wolfgang Liphardt

    3. Wolfgang, I checked Cincinnati marriage records from 1963 to 1983 and did not find one for Allison Scott. These records can be found at www.probatect.org Click on Record Search and then Archive Search to see these and other records for Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. 1. Re: [OHHAMILT] Gardner - Mill Creek, Hamilton Co., OH 1830's - 1840's
    2. Gary Williams
    3. Looking on Ancestry.com I found (1) reference to a Benoni Gardner in the 1830 census in Delhi Township. It looks like he was between 70-80 with a woman living with him 40-50, 1 boy 5-10, 1girl under 5 and 1girl 5-10. Don't know if your familiar with Hamilton Co., but Mill Creek Township and Delhi Township border each other. If he is the father he may have moved in with one of the sons ,if he was ill, then died there. This is the site to an old township map of Hamilton Co.1881 from The History of Cincinnati and Hamilton Co., Ohio: twpmap I also checked in the Spring Grove Cemetery where many early residents where buried, but none of the Gardners you mention are there. Parents are listed, if known, on the records. No record showed up in Family Search (LDS records). Good luck in your search, Joan Williams On Jan 26, 2010, at 1:33 PM, Sue12632@aol.com wrote: > Looking for any info on the GARDNER Families that appear in the 1840 US > Census for MILL CREEK, HAMILTON CO., OH.
